Common Questions About Ontario Treatment Centres

More About Ontario Rehab

Explore Treatment Centres

If you're looking for movie nights, yoga, and swimming to help you on your road to recovery from alcohol and drug abuse and other disorders like anxiety and depression, Ontario has a plethora of treatment facilities and rehab centers waiting to accommodate your journey. Many focus on [one-on-one treatment] or [small group therapy] to help, making your experience as easy as possible. With many rehab locations all over Ontario, there is sure to be the right fit for your needs.

This Canadian province is home to multiple large cities, including the Canadian capital of Ottawa, and boasts natural beauty with its many lakes and wooded areas. Fun activities here include visiting Niagara Falls, hiking and canoeing, and exploring the cities, like Toronto which is right on the lake.

How long do rehab programs last?

Residential rehab programs normally last for a minimum of 30 days, with an option to extend to 90 days or more. How long you need to, or are able to, stay in treatment depends on what program options your facility offers, as well as the nature and severity of your condition.

What should I look for in an addiction treatment center?

Factors to consider when choosing a rehab include

* location, which affects the environmental setting and which activities may be offered;

* how easy it is to reach from where you live;

* what treatment approach they use and how this resonates with your personal preferences;

* whether or not they offer specific therapies or facilities you’re looking for;

* what kind of clientele you’re likely to be in treatment with, as some programs cater to certain populations; and

* if they can accommodate any special needs you have, such as working while in treatment.

Which features are most important to you may vary depending on your unique circumstances. When you call a rehab, their admissions staff can give you further information on their program as well as answer any specific questions you have.

Will I relapse after addiction treatment and if so, what can I do?

Because addiction comes from such deeply ingrained patterns, it’s not uncommon to fall back into old patterns, or even relapse, after receiving treatment. That’s why contingency measures are put in place throughout your recovery journey. These include

* relapse prevention planning, which starts while you’re still in treatment;

* stepped down care options such as intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) and sober living;

* aftercare programs that allow you to continue your therapeutic progress from home; and

* group meetings to help you build and maintain a sober support network.

How much does rehab cost?

Private addiction treatment ranges from around $3000 per month for programs with lower overhead costs, to upwards of $80,000 per day for ultra-exclusive programs. You can explore treatment options at various price ranges.

Does my insurance cover addiction or mental health treatment?

Since the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), addiction treatment in the U.S. is more commonly covered by health insurance, which may also include Medicare and Medicaid. Rehab center admissions staff are usually happy to provide more information on insurance coverage and help you verify whether your policy fully or partially covers their program.

Am I allowed to talk to my partner or family members while I'm at rehab?

Each rehab has its own policy on the use of devices like cell phones and laptops while in treatment. While some restrict use to encourage focus on treatment goals (and avoid issues with internet-based addictions), some have liberal policies that allow clients to continue contact, and even work, during treatment.
